Which Stovetops Work With Okura (Including Induction)
Your titanium pan works on every common cooktop — induction, gas, electric, ceramic, halogen — and in the oven.
Short answer: whatever you're cooking on, your Okura pan almost certainly works with it. Here's the detail.
Every common cooktop
Your pan is designed to work on all standard heat sources — induction, gas, electric coil and radiant, ceramic, and halogen cooktops. You don't need a special setup or an adapter.
Induction
Yes, induction works. Center the pan on the ring so it makes full contact, and start at a medium setting rather than the top of the dial. Induction is fast and responsive, and titanium conducts heat efficiently, so you'll rarely need high power. If a cooktop briefly doesn't detect the pan, nudge it to the center of the ring.
In the oven
Your pan is oven safe up to 260°C (500°F), so it moves happily from stovetop to oven for finishing a steak or baking a frittata. Use a mitt — the handle gets hot in the oven and stays hot for a while after.
Match the pan to the burner
A couple of small habits get you even cooking on any source. On gas, keep the flame under the base rather than letting it lick up the sides — flames climbing the walls just scorch the exterior and bring on heat tint. On electric, ceramic, and induction, use a ring roughly the size of the pan's base so the heat spreads evenly instead of concentrating in one hot spot.
Heat control matters more than the source
Whichever cooktop you use, the principle is the same: control beats intensity. Preheat gradually, keep it in the low-to-medium range for most dishes, and let the pan do the work. Titanium responds quickly, so you'll almost never need the top of the dial. This is also the best way to avoid heat tint — more on that in Why Is My Pan Discoloring?.
Cleaning after
Your pan is dishwasher safe, but hand washing keeps it performing longest. See Cleaning and Maintaining Your Titanium Pan.
